Beneath its cartoonish pixel imagery and apparent preschool theme, Kindergarten is a grim, high-stakes puzzle-adventure game. You play as a fresh student caught in a time loop of a regular school day, hiding many scary truths.
Every choice you make from the opening bell to dismissal is a life or death matter. With a mixture of dark humour and unexpected plot twists players are kept continually on high alert.
Kindergarten has a regular daily schedule. You have a critical resource called Action Points that will help you survive and uncover the secrets. These spots are used for major interactions like talking to NPCs, buying things, or starting missions. A day is divided into five basic phases:
Schoolyard: Start of loop. This is when you go to classmate, find targets and trigger the precise storyline path you want to follow.
Morning Class: a very dangerous one. You must follow the teacher's rules without being caught, while secretly gathering clues.
Lunchtime - the school’s “black market.” a great place to swap stuff and hatch covert plots.
Recess: A place to run around with lots of nooks and crannies. It's a good way to explore forbidden zones or do nefarious business.
Show & Tell: The last word of reckoning. The object you pick to present will decide if you unlock a new mystery or meet a catastrophic end.
Arrow keys: Move your character fluidly through hallways and classrooms.
Mouse: Click to select dialogue, interact with puzzles, and decide the direction of the story.
Have a fun—and haunting—time with Kindergarten!
