About Ghostophobia

Ghostophobia! A multiplayer psychological horror game in first-person. “A big influence is Phasmophobia. You and your buddies hunt ghosts in abandoned homes, gloomy basements and dreary constructions in the game.

The aim is to survive and tell the story of the ghosts, not to “destroy” them. You are going to have to enter the scene, utilize unique detection equipment to gain clues, pick the ghost exactly, and get away safely.

How to play Ghostophobia

Coordinating and Preparing Equipment

Teamwork is important, as each participant has a limited inventory space. First, make sure you have these three important elements for survival:

Flashlight: A basic tool against the darkness.

EMF Reader: Detects electromagnetic radiation – the greatest approach to know which room a ghost is in.

Thermometer or Camera: For checking cold temperatures or getting evidence of the paranormal.

The “Ghost Room”

Use the 'V' or 'B' keys to constantly communicate with your colleagues.

Scan for EMF readings in the halls and rooms. If you hear footsteps, hear things falling or shattering, or the EMF meter goes to levels 2-4 you have found the ghost's room.

Managing Sanity

Spending too much time in the dark, encountering paranormal phenomena, or staring directly at a ghost will cause your Sanity level to plummet. When the team’s collective Sanity drops too low, the ghost will become aggressive and initiate a "Hunt."

Dealing with a Hunt

If you notice your flashlight flickering, hear the front door slam shut, or detect the sound of a pounding heartbeat, a Hunt has begun. The ghost can hear you through your microphone—immediately turn off your walkie-talkie and remain completely silent.

A lit flashlight will lead the ghost straight to you. Break the line of sight, hide inside a closet, or take cover behind large obstacles. Never run in a straight line down a long hallway; the ghost is always faster than you.

Place Crucifixes in "hot spots" to stop a Hunt before it even begins.

Finalizing the Investigation and Escaping

Once you have gathered three pieces of evidence, open your journal and mark them off to identify the ghost type. Don’t get greedy by trying to snap extra photos or lingering to taunt the entity. Order your team to retreat to the van, close the doors, and hit the "complete" button to secure your payout for equipment upgrades. Knowing when to call it quits is the most essential skill for any professional ghost hunter.

Enjoy your time playing Ghostophobia!
