Instead of a straight-up face-off, you’ll be forced to go throughout darkened halls and reactivate the power system while being chased by a monster named Lily Lovebraids.
Your primary survival objective isn't combat, but a desperate race against the darkness. Use familiar controls: WASD to move, Shift to sprint, C to crouch, and Tab to pause.
Navigate the dark areas of the toy factory and interact with the environment to turn on broken light bulbs. A navigation arrow will appear on-screen to point you toward the nearest switch.
Your progress isn't permanent. Lily can return to areas you’ve illuminated and switch the lights off herself, forcing you to backtrack if you want to complete your mission.
Your only weapon is your hearing. Lily Lovebraids often sings a soothing yet haunting melody while patrolling. Hold your breath and change direction immediately if you hear the sound close by.
Use the crouch key (C) to move silently when visibility is low, avoiding accidental run-ins with the creature around blind corners.
Avoid moving in a straight line, since Lily can turn off the lights. Try to circle around places so you can quickly return to flick switches without getting cornered.
Do not overuse the sprint key. Always racing down a poorly lit corridor could mean you're face to face with the adversary. Sprint only when you have been seen or need to cross an open area.
Sometimes, it is wiser to let Lily turn off a distant light and use that time to activate lights in a safer zone, rather than making a futile attempt to protect every switch.
The high level of suspense in the game comes from the conflict between sight and sound. The toy factory – with its gentle pink walls – should be reassuring but under the flashing lights it becomes claustrophobic and eerie.
