Hello Neighbor redefines the stealth survival-horror genre not through monsters or gore, but through a terrifyingly intelligent neighbor. Developed by Dynamic Pixels, the game plunges players into a tense psychological battle where the line between a curious boy and a trespasser becomes blurred.
You are a newcomer to a peaceful suburb. Chilling sounds come to you again and again from your window. You see your neighbor, a man with a strange upturned mustache, lock something up in his basement. Curiosity wins, and you decide to do something crazy: break into his house to find out the truth.
Hello Neighbor is split into three individual Acts, following the story of the main character as he grows up from a curious kid to an adult still plagued by past pain. As you get deeper into the game, the design of the house becomes more and more strange and irrational, indicating a twisted mind with horrific secrets.
The neighbor's house is a massive, interactive ecosystem. Everything—from televisions, radios, and cardboard boxes to chairs—can be utilized to serve your objectives.
Distraction: Throw a tomato at a window to create noise, or turn on the living room radio to lure the neighbor downstairs, creating an opening for you to sneak upstairs.
Solving Mechanisms: You have to look for keys, keycards, crowbars, and wrenches to open doors, pry off blocked entrances or disable security cameras.
Parkour Elements: The constantly shifting layout of the house requires players to stack boxes, leap across rooftops, and employ physics-based mechanics to access elevated spots.
Good luck escaping your terrifying, obsessive neighbor in Hello Neighbor!
